Our gift shop assistants, welcome customers, engage with them if they need help, advise them about the wide range of merchandise and process sales through the Electronic Point of Sale System (EPoS). They are responsible for opening and closing the gift shop area and may be asked to help with stock checks and processing online orders.
Core Tasks
• Provide a first-class customer service to all visitors to the Cathedral gift shop.
• Conduct shop opening and closing procedures.
• Operate the Electronic Point of Sale System; take card payments.
• Receive and check deliveries of merchandise as directed.
• Replenish and attractively display merchandise as directed.
• Assist with stock taking as required.
• Assist Shop Manager with processing online orders.

Skills
• Well presented, with a friendly and approachable personality; possess a sense of humour and can-do attitude.
• Enthusiasm for, and willingness to, engage with people.
• Patience and tact are required in interactions with the public.
• Ability to work without supervision and alone after thorough training.
• Aged 18 and over.
• Whilst being a practising Christian is not a requirement, volunteers should be sympathy with the ethos and aims of the Cathedral as a Christian organisation.

Availability Details
Our gift shop is open from 10am - 3pm on the days shown above. Volunteers normally cover a morning or afternoon shift.
