JOIN 18\, 273 people AND TAKE PART IN THE UK'S BIGGEST PLASTIC INVESTIGATION!

Thousands of p eople from households\, schools and communities across the country will tak e part in the UK’s biggest people-powered investigation into household plas tic waste.

By taking part in The Big Plastic Count\, you’ll help gath er important evidence to show the true scale of the crisis – and to tell th e government we need them to produce less plastic. Since our last campaign\ , the UK has elected a new government – one that says it’s serious about ta ckling plastic waste. This is our chance to put their promise to the test.< /p>

1. Sign up on their website (they will email you everything you need to get started)

2. Get Counting - join thousa nds of people across the UK and count all the plastic packaging you throw a way for one week . When you're done\, submit your count on the website.

3. They will send you your plastic profile - showing what happens to you r waste after you bin it.

There are plenty of opportunities to try new roles\, apply your ski lls or learn new ones\, be with friends and family\, meet people and be a p art of the parkrun community. There is something for everyone at parkrun\, you could be setting up the course\, scanning people’s barcodes at the fini sh or ensuring everyone gets safely around the route as a marshal. We never ask anybody to do anything they're not comfortable with and if you want to do a particular volunteer role\, please let us know and we'll try to accom modate.
You don’t need any experience of parkrun\, jun ior parkrun or of volunteering. There are a range of roles to choose from\, and many of them can be combined with walking or running too.

You can volunteer alone or team up with someone else\, and there a re always people on hand if you have any questions.
Ev ery time you volunteer gets you one step closer to an official parkrun mile stone\, which rewards those who have volunteered 10 (for those under 18)\, 25\, 50\, 100\, 250\, 500 or 1000 times.

We still run regular beach and c ommunity clean-ups. It is a great way to get back in touch with nature\, wi th benefits that include the obvious clear-up of litter\, meeting like-mind ed people\, and getting some often well-needed headspace and connection wit h nature.
