The Education department welcomes many schools and hundreds of young people to the Cathedral each year. It provides a variety of curriculum-linked education workshops and activities for primary and secondary pupils.
Core Tasks
• To assist with preparing resources for school activities - may involve all or a combination of: Designing craft activities, Photocopying, Cutting out, Collating worksheets
• Arranging displays
• Designing workshop ideas and resources
• To assist in setting up activities
• To welcome teaching staff and children
• To support children in taking part in the workshops and activities
• To demonstrate craft activities
• Assist with the development of new resources
• To assist in putting things away and clearing up

Skills
• Show enthusiasm for heritage and history
• A keen interest in helping and supporting socially
• Somebody who is well presented, with a friendly and approachable personality; possesses a sense of humour and can-do attitude
• A person with good communication skills
• Confidence and a willingness to explain and demonstrate ideas to children
• A person who can work well in a team and follow instructions
• No experience necessary as full training and support will be provided
• Whilst being a practising Christian is not a requirement, volunteers should be sympathy with the ethos and aims of the Cathedral as a Christian organisation.

Must be 18 years and over - Will require a criminal record check (DBS)

Education Assistants can sign up to help at workshops via the rota app we use. Schools workshops are term time only.
