Together in the Hive Portsmouth, is Portsmouth's Volunteer Centre. We recruit and advertise volunteer opportunities for over 200 charities and organisations. We are looking for volunteers to help promote volunteering in the city as well as promote all the good work charities and organisations do.
This role is perfect for anyone who desires experience in social media management/ marketing or would like to develop their online communication skills.
The social media volunteer will need to be confident navigating all types of social media platforms, and have an understanding of the way in which people communicate on the platform and be able to adapt their writing style to suit this.
Tasks include:
- Creating engaging social media posts with appropriate graphics and wording
- Replying to comments and messages
- Creating stories
- Reviewing and feeding back about our interactions
- Looking for relevant hash tags to add to the posts
Posts are to include:
- Promoting volunteering opportunities.
- National and worldwide days of celebration/ remembrance/ awareness.
- Promoting important and relevant charities.
- Keeping up to date with opportunities and events in the local area.
- Keeping up to date with relevant news stories.
- Using relevant hashtags to engage more post views.
- Spreading positive and helpful messages eg. Positive and motivational quotes, self-care tips.
The role is to be completed from home.
You will need a personal device to work from (laptop/tablet) with appropriate software installed.
We require the volunteer to dedicate 2-4 hours per week at a time that suits them (to be discussed at interview)
