Admin Assistant Monday and Thursday

Together in Hive Portsmouth’s Volunteer Centre supports local people in finding meaningful volunteering opportunities with charities and community groups across the city. 

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Admin Volunteer to join our Volunteer Centre team. Based at the Volunteer Desk in the Portsmouth Guildhall Library, this front-facing role involves supporting members of the public to find and apply for volunteering opportunities that match their interests and skills. You will also assist with a variety of administrative tasks that help ensure the smooth running of the Volunteer Centre.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can volunteer at the desk on Monday mornings (10:00am to 1:00pm) and Thursday afternoons (12:00pm to 3:00pm).

You will need to respond to the "Criteria Check" email to progress with this role.

Skills

  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Can provide one reference (either professional or character - not family member)
  • Available on a Monday morning and Thursday afternoon
  • Comfortable speaking with members of the public
  • Friendly, patient, and approachable
  • Willing to learn and complete necessary online training 
  • Reliable and able to volunteer regularly
  • Work well independently and as part of a team 
  • Basic IT skills 
  • Good communication skills

  • Minimum time commitment (e.g. 3 months, 6 months etc)
    At least six months
  • Over 18 years only
  • Will require references
    One professional or character reference
