Research Assistant Coordinator

Portsmouth Climate Action (PCA) wants to help local residents and organisations understand the danger of continuing to use petrol , gas and coal, and the many benefits of renewables and nature-friendly cities. The organisation partners with local community groups, schools, businesses and the University to reduce carbon footprints, empower folk with sustainability knowledge and resources, and create greener streets, cleaner air and future proof jobs.

What is the role? We are looking for someone with research skills/experience, ideally coupled with an understanding of, or interest in, the ecological and the climate crisis. Your role will be to onboard new research assistants, help them understand what we are looking for in terms of outcomes, give them feedback and manage their enquiries. (training available)

Our research is used to:

  • Update the content of our climate awareness courses and workshops
  • Summarise current best practice in climate and science communication
  • Myth bust media and online narratives about net zero and the climate crisis
