We are looking for Volunteer Video Creators / Editors to support a short-term project creating a series of short, engaging videos that promote volunteering and help people discover local opportunities.
These short videos will explain:
- What volunteering is
- How to use our website to search and apply for volunteering roles.
These videos will support first-time volunteers, migrants, and older people, helping remove digital and language barriers to volunteering.
Your work will directly help make volunteering more visible, accessible, and engaging for new volunteers.What will you being doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how new and existing volunteers experience finding local volunteering opportunities.
You will work closely with our team to create clear, informative, and engaging short videos. These will include screen recordings and edited footage used for promotional, training, or informational purposes.
Your tasks may include:
- Filming short screengrabs or video clips - Recording screen grabs showing how to search, filter, and apply for volunteering roles
- Editing short videos based on notes and guidance from our team
- Adding accurate subtitles and / or voice-over audio to improve accessibility
- Embedding non-copyrighted background audio when appropriate (e.g. from Freesound.org)
- Ensuring smooth pacing and flow — avoiding awkward silences, abrupt cut-offs, or stalled moments
- Incorporating re-recorded audio, images, or clips where needed
- Creating simple, engaging title slides or intros using Canva
- Clearly labelling files to support future translation versions
- Make a real impact by helping people discover meaningful volunteering opportunities
- Use and develop your creative and technical skills
- Gain experience working with a supportive team on real-world content
- Flexible volunteering that fits around your schedule — take on as many videos as you like

Skills
Essential:
- You must be comfortable using video editing software
- Able to work independently and manage your own time
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Able to work to a deadline
(Please note: we are unfortunately not able to provide training in video editing for this role.)
Desirable:
- Some experience editing videos for digital or social media use
- Strong understanding of subtitling, pacing, and audio synchronisation
- Ability to clearly label files and clips
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making adjustments
- Willing to re-edit or reshoot small sections if needed
- Confident taking initiative while working collaboratively with a team
- Short-term project
- Flexible — work on as many or as few videos as suits you
- Remote / home-based
