People Services Volunteer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer to join the People Team. The role will be fast paced and varied, providing support for the HR & Volunteer Services Team. This initial placement is for an experienced HR person to cover some volunteer holiday cover for 2 months and then continue with available shifts after that period. Flexible hours of approx 4-8 hrs per week (within office opening hours of 09:00 – 17:00).

As well as working for a reputable Charitable Organisation, Rowans Hospice also offers free on-site parking and free tea and coffee.

This would be a fantastic developmental opportunity for anyone seeking to develop as a HR practitioner or a continued involvement in people skills.

Please note, this role will be office based within the Rowans Hospice located in Purbrook, Waterlooville.

Skills

  • Have experience within an PA/Administration role that has handled sensitive and confidential data.
  • Desirable or though not necessary to be holding or working towards a CIPD qualification.
  • Can demonstrate competency and proficiency in the use of all Microsoft office applications especially excel and powerpoint.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Have a passion for collaborating with people.
  • Understand the principles of GDPR and maintain confidentiality.

Details

  • Minimum time commitment (e.g. 3 months, 6 months etc)
    ideally 4-8 hours per week
  • Suitable for Families - (under 16's with an adult)
  • Suitable for Under 18's (if yes state min age)
    You must be 18 years or over (18+)
  • Will require a criminal record check (DBS)
    Basic DBS check
  • Will require references
    One character reference / cannot be family
