Volunteer Piano Player

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic piano player to support our Monday Singing Group. The group meets every other Monday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm, and we would love to welcome a volunteer who can play piano to accompany a mixture of well‑known songs and uplifting favourites.

This is a relaxed, enjoyable session where people come together to sing, socialise, and have fun. Your role would simply be to provide musical accompaniment and help keep the group in tune and in time—nothing too formal or pressured!

If you enjoy playing the piano, like being part of a warm and welcoming group, and have an hour and a half to spare every other Monday, we would be delighted to hear from you.


About Us

In 1922 the charity was formed to help the blind people of Portsmouth and later this was extended to include all visually impaired people.

Portsmouth Association for the Blind is the only charity specifically for Vision Impaired people in Portstmouth.

We are totally dependent on donations received from the public. Your help is always welcome, no matter how little it may seem.

Skills

Must be able to play the piano, read music, if not able to play by ear.

Details

  • Limited Physical Access
    Would be suitable for someone with mobility issues, as long as they can play the piano and get themselves into the centre.
  • Suitable for Families - (under 16's with an adult)
  • Suitable for Under 18's (if yes state min age)
  • Will require a criminal record check (DBS)
  • Will require own vehicle or access to a vehicle
    unless able to walk to the centre
