Visitor Welcome Volunteer

This role is part of the Visitor Operations team at Portsmouth Historic Quarter, based in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Visitor Welcome volunteers help welcome visitors to Boathouse 4 and to the wider dockyard and help them to plan their visits. 

Duties:

You'll help provide a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors, helping their visit to get off to the best possible start. Tasks will vary but include:

-Providing visitors with assistance when they arrive to help them orientate themselves, explaining what they can see in Boathouse 4 and around the other areas of the dockyard

-Conducting short, guided tours around Boathouse 4

-Being knowledgeable about our boat trips and charters so visitors know what is on offer for them

-Assisting on our Pontoon Open Events, sharing information about our fleet of boats and helping people to be safe on our pontoons

-Supporting visitors by responding to enquiries and feedback

-Ensuring visitors remain safe during their visit by following our safety and security procedures

-Passing on any visitor feedback to staff and ensuring any visitor complaints are directed to a staff member

-Maintaining excellent standards of site and personal presentation at all times

Skills

-Minimum 18 years old

-You must enjoy meeting people and have a friendly and approachable style

- Happy to be a passionate ambassador for Portsmouth Historic Quarter and the Dockyard

-Enjoy being outside and talking to people
