About the organisation

We provide hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life-changing diagnosis. It's not just expert medical care we provide. It's the emotional support and practical things we take care of too. We do whatever we can to be a safety net for patients and loved ones.

Skills

We are looking for friendly, outgoing people who don`t mind going that extra mile for our customers. Being a Sue Ryder volunteer is a great way to gain skills, meet new people, take an active role in your community and could even help you develop a career in the charity sector.

It is also a meaningful way of giving something back as the efforts of all our volunteers help Sue Ryder deliver incredible care to people with life-limiting conditions.

We welcome everyone - from young people just starting out in the world of work, to those with a lifetime's wisdom to share.

Our volunteers receive training for the role they choose alongside ongoing support - ensuring they are given the skills and guidance needed to make a difference within our charity. As a Sue Ryder volunteer you'll develop your skills and experience, make new friends, and have a really good time along the way.

Volunteering is great for your personal and career development, and with us you can:

- Start your career in the not-for-profit sector.

- Contribute to your organisation's corporate social responsibility with employee-supported volunteering.

- Start your ethical footprint in life if you are a school-aged volunteer.

Each year, through donating their time, talents and skills, every one of our 12,000 volunteers helps us to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical and emotional support in our hospices and neurological centres, in people's homes and in the community.
