Conservation Volunteers

We're always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us improve biodiversity within the City's Parks, Gardens and Open Green Spaces.

Volunteer opportunities include gardening, species surveying, habitat improvement, littler picking, family planting days and supporting community events and activities.

We run regular weekly/monthly task days across the city and one-off biodiversity improvement days through out the year.

Process:

You will need an account to register your interest for this role. Once you have registered your interest you will receive an automatic email with next steps. If you have not received this in a couple of hours, please do get in touch as it may not have registered (volunteering@hiveportsmouth.org.uk). 

You will need to respond to the "Criteria Check" email to progress with this role.

Skills

No experience required, just a love of the outdoors.

Volunteers will always be working with a Countryside Officer.

Sturdy footwear, waterproofs and sensible clothing recommended when out with us.

Minimum age - Task dependent but generally no minimum age.  However, children must be always accompanied by an adult.

Minimum Commitment: Flexible, from weekly task participation to one off sessions.

Limited physical access - Due to the nature of the task, this role requires physical work.
