Micro role - Summer Holiday Volunteer Buggy Driver

We are looking for someone to join our enthusiastic team of volunteers to assist with driving our buggy. Our Buggy Drivers assist those with mobility needs by driving between the entrance of the Historic Dockyard and the Mary Rose. The service is mainly aimed at visitors who have difficulty walking, making sure that they have a great experience when they come to us, regardless of access issues. As a member of our team full training will be provided.

Key Activities

· Driving the buggy between the Historic Dockyard entrance and the Mary Rose Museum.

· Offering a positive welcome for visitors.

· Assisting visitors on and off the buggy.

· Making sure that the buggy is safe to use and plugging in to re-charge at the end of the day.

· Ensuring the buggy is constantly in a serviceable condition, clean, tidy and well presented.

· Be part of welcome team ensuring all visitors are given a World class experience.

About the Organisation:

The Mary Rose Trust is a limited charitable trust based in Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. Its primary aims are to preserve, display and spread knowledge about the 16th century warship Mary Rose which sank in the Solent on 19 July 1545 and was salvaged by the Trust in October 1982.

Skills

- Full, clean driving licence required

- Minimum 21 years old

- Available on Monday afternoons from 1pm – 5pm during the Summer holidays. (If interested, there may be other days opening up for you to volunteer)

- 2 references required

- Enjoy working as part of a team Friendly nature with a good sense of humour

- Outgoing, with very good communication skills and comfortable dealing with the public Interest in the heritage sector

- Customer-focussed and have an understanding of the importance of good customer service A genuine interest in the Mary Rose and its artefacts
