Sewing teaching assistant

What will I be doing?

  • Helping beginners sew simple repairs and small make-n-take projects using sewing machines.
  • Help to set-up and tidy.


When?

Hand sewing: First Wednesday of the month, at 10.30am - 12.30pm or one early evening as we expand (to be confirmed)

Sewing machine: Third Monday of the month, either 10.30 am - 12.30 or 5.30pm to 8pm

Skills

  • Simple hand-sewing and basic machine-sewing skills.
  • Ability to teach the public.
  • Need an approachable personality.
  • Some flexibility too as each attendee will bring different items to be sewn.
  • Supervision is always available and helpers can come and try a session before offering or committing to help.
