What is the role?
Led by Funk Format, Rawkus City 2026 is Portsmouth's hip-hop festival, bringing together dancers, artists, performers, communities and audiences to celebrate the city's vibrant hip-hop culture.
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and help deliver a packed programme across two days. Volunteers will play an important role in creating a welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone who attends. This is a great opportunity for local people to get involved in Portsmouth's own hip-hop culture and to be part of a festival celebrating movement, creativity, music and community.
What does the role involve?
Volunteers will support the smooth running of Rawkus City 2026 and help create a positive experience for audiences, artists, performers and participants. Tasks may include:
General stewarding and welcoming visitors
Providing information and helping direct audiences and participants
Supporting the collection of audience and participant evaluations
Assisting with event set-up and pack-down
Supporting artists, performers and workshop participants where required
Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and well-organised festival environment
You do not need previous experience. Bring enthusiasm, reliability, a friendly approach and a genuine interest in being part of Portsmouth's hip-hop community and culture.
