Community First Responders are highly trained volunteers who can respond to 999 calls within their local community. CFRs are often first on scene and able to start observations or emergency first aid in preparation for an ambulance and paramedics to arrive on scene. CFRs also have opportunities to attend events in a first aid capacity and attend local community events to give CPR demonstrations. Regular CPD events are offered, yearly re qualifications and support from local scheme volunteers and the Community Engagement Staff.
About the organisation
South Central Ambulance Charity raises funds to support South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS). All the monies raised by our Charity are used to fund services, projects and equipment that is not supplied by Government NHS funding. Without the money we raise people in our communities would have to wait longer for help which could affect their recovery.
The Charity works across Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire as well as supporting our Patient Transport Services in Surrey and Sussex.
Don't forget you can add up any volunteering hours as part of Team 100 Opportunity - Hive Portsmouth or part of the Donate 100 things challenge Opportunity - Hive Portsmouth.
