Volunteer Christmas Roles!
As Christmas is steadily making its way towards us, so are the volunteering opportunities! We have a selection of volunteering roles below that are open throughout the Christmas period. So if you are interested in spreading some joy and cheer throughout December, sign up to a opportunity below.
These roles will be periodically updated throughout the Christmas season, so keep an eye out for new roles!
*Please note that we do not have any roles available on Christmas day*
Christmas wreath or table decorations, or refreshments or general helper
Help at one charity event, or both. Offer guidance on how to make Christmas wreath or table decoration ( on a log base) or a craft. Or help set up and tidy or offer refreshments
Christmas Care Home Gifts
Would you like to spread some Christmas cheer and joy by donating a gift for a Portsmouth Care Home Resident?
We have been given the details of a few Care Home residents who are living with dementia, and do not have any family/friends. This means that they may not receive any gifts at Christmas. If you are able to donate a gift for one of these residents (there are male and female recipients) we will distribute them and know that they will be enormously gratefully received.
All you need to do is register your interest and drop off any gift(s) to us at Portsmouth Central Library please as, unfortunately, we are not able to collect them.
Handmade items for Care Home Christmas Fayre
We are fundraising for our residents Amenities Funds at our Annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday 9th December 11am – 3.30pm.
At the fayre we will have a Tombola, raffle, Santa visit, cakes and refreshments and plants for sale.
We will also have a hand made item stall. We would be most grateful if anyone would like to contribute to the handmade stall with items or cards to sell.
With money raised previously at our events we have paid for wonderful events such as Farm Visits, Dancers, Entertainment and more so very important for our residents well being.
Items would need to be dropped off to Portsmouth Central Library by Monday 4th December

Clean Christmas Campaign – Final Straw Foundation and Rooster Clothing
We’ve changed up our traditional Christmas giveaway this year, and instead we have partnered with the Final Straw Foundation for a Clean Christmas campaign.
But what does this entail? We want to increase awareness and mindfulness around good environmental practises – at the end of the day the outdoors is our playground so we have to look after it in order to benefit from it!
How to Get involved?
Follow us on social media and share your pics/videos of either of the below
Make sure to use all 3 hashtags and to tag @roosterkit and @finalstrawfoundation:

DO A LITTER PICK IN YOUR LOCAL AREA
This can be to any level, whether it be walking up your street/lane and
picking up rubbish on the side of the road or going further afield to your
local beach or park to collect rubbish. OR even better, gather your tribe and
do it together for a fun day in the fresh air.
