The week is led by the Student Volunteering Network to provide volunteering opportunities/events for students and to encourage students to be involved in their local communities. It also celebrates the work that student volunteers do.
There is a different theme each day and events are encouraged around this. As well as showcasing the benefits of volunteering, one of the themes of this year is sustainability, encouraging students to take part in an outdoor activity beneficial to the local area.
As a Volunteer Centre, we’re proud to support Student Volunteering Week by raising awareness of the national themes and celebrating the impact that student volunteers make year‑round. Whether you’re already volunteering or just curious, it’s a great time to explore opportunities, follow the daily themes online, share your volunteer story, or try small sustainable actions that benefit the community. You can find year‑round roles and get tailored support through our volunteering service (browse opportunities on our platform or contact us for advice), and you can follow updates from the Student Volunteering Network to get inspired and see how students are making a difference across the country.
You can see more about the week on their website.
