Sew Reusable Menstrual pads for Refugees & Vulnerable People

The Pachamama Project is a UK-registered charity growing a network of volunteers around the world to make reusable period pads for refugees and vulnerable people who experience period poverty. 

We are keeping girls in education, women in work and restoring dignity. 

We offer a zero-commitment volunteering opportunity to people to sew from home or to create their own sewing groups.

Our washable pads are easy to make and make a huge difference to people already facing unimaginable daily challenges. Having your period should not be one of those challenges. We need crafty volunteers to create the menstrual pads and donate these where we will donate to those most in need. 

Since founding in 2020, we have distributed more than 170,00 pads to people in Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Pakistan, South Sudan, Turkey, Uganda, Uganda, Ukraine, USA and here in the UK. 

UK-made pads are sent to HQ in Essex from where we send the pads to established distribution partners around the world. 

Many volunteers have set up local groups to sew together but most are individuals sewing from home when they have time. We have regional WhatsApp groups and a closed Facebook Group for all Pachamama volunteers who want to communicate, share tips and resources, show off their pads!
