This role is about being friendly, smiley and comfortable talking to people about what we do, helping our members when they come to the hub to borrow and return items, and co-repairers when they come to the hub for a repair slot.
Tasks can include checking out items when members come to collect them, including ensuring IDs are checked on the first borrow and taking payments; checking items back in on return using our online system ‘myTurn’. As people come in for their repair slots, you’ll explain the process and provide them with paperwork to complete before linking them up with their volunteer repairer, taking donations and making cups of tea. The role involves working alongside other team members.
Ideally you will be able to commit to coming to the hub once a week or fortnightly (we’re open Weds, Fri & Sat 10 – 1 & Thurs 1 – 4). We do also need ad hoc people to help cover shifts, so if you’re only available once a month or so, feel free to also contact us.
