Girlguiding is unique.
At the heart of guiding are the unit meetings that girls go along to each week.
Volunteering at unit meetings means getting messy, meeting new people and running activities that help girls discover their potential. You’ll volunteer directly with Brownies. Unit meetings are usually an hour and a half once a week.
These roles are perfect if you want to: Support girls on a regular basis and see them grow Get stuck into adventurous (and often messy!) activities Have a rewarding role where you\'ll develop great relationships with girls and volunteers
You’ll work alongside other volunteers to give girls fun, friendship, challenge and adventure. There is no responsibility for planning in this role but you will be the extra pair of hands needed to make unit meetings happen.
Can’t commit on a weekly basis? Then help from time to time or on a temporary basis. This is a great way to volunteer around everything else you have going on.
Unit Helpers are key in supporting girls and young women to experience how great Girlguiding can be. While we can offer you support in your role we would expect you to possess the personal qualities listed below.
An open and approachable manner. Reliable and trustworthy. Creative and enthusiastic. Committed to ongoing personal development. Fun-loving. A sense of humour. Enjoy working with young people.
