The Society of St James require volunteers in Portsmouth to help support the new integrated support service for people at risk of rough sleeping.
The purpose of the service is to provide safe, sustainable accommodation for people at risk of rough sleeping, and work with them to facilitate a move-onto suitable, sustainable and settled housing. Volunteers will support the service users to engage with, and move through, the Homelessness Pathway.
Key Tasks - Supporting clients with actions identified in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs) - Welcoming new Service users into the service - Supporting with Service User consultations - Working in partnership with other agency’s such as Portsmouth City Council - Supporting staff with welfare checks - Supporting clients to engage with a range of activities in the pathway and the community - Supporting clients to maintain a safe and comfortable accommodation space - Accompanying clients to attend appointments - Participating in daily handovers
All applicants will be at least 6 months clear of using any SSJ services.
