Role Requirements
Brief Overview:
As a Shop Volunteer your role will be to assist in the day to day running of the shop.
Role Purpose:
Providing support to the three members of staff and other volunteers in our shop as well as excellent customer service to our community.
Specific Duties:
● Maintaining a knowledge of our products and recognise customer needs, to be able to suggest recommendations as needed
● Handling food and packing, including both stocking of shelves and preparation of orders
● Till operation and handling of cash (although this is not a necessary requirement)
● Helping with deliveries including manual handling of heavy loads (not compulsory)
● Assisting in the visual merchandising of the shop
● Maintaining high levels of cleanliness throughout the shop with daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks

Availability Details
Time Commitment: Volunteers will ideally commit to a minimum of 1 shift per week. The shop is currently open: Mondays 10:30am-6:00pm, Tuesdays-Thursdays 10:00am-5:30pm, Fridays 9:00am-4:30pm, Saturdays 10:00am-4:30pm, Sundays 10:30-4:30pm Shift times vary according to opening hours, but there are three shifts a day (opening, afternoon and closing) each of which is usually about 2-3 hours. Opening shifts start 30-60min before the shop opens and closing shifts finish 30min after the shop closes.
