One off role - Event Marshalls for the Lets talk about suicide event

Make Portsmouth are looking for some event volunteers for the Lets Talk About Suicide Event on Saturday 6th September 2025 at Victoria park Portsmouth. The roles will include: 

• Assisting stallholders in locating their allocated pitch
• Distributing refreshments to stallholders 
• Welcoming and directing members of the public 
• Handing out event timetables and brochures
• Encouraging attendees to complete feedback forms and collecting them
• Supporting the efficient and safe departure of stallholders at the event of the event 

The shifts available are 7am - 12noon, 12 - 4:30pm or all day 7-4:30pm

About the event: 

This vital community gathering in Victoria Park, Portsmouth, is dedicated to raising awareness about suicide prevention, providing hope and support to those in distress, and helping those affected by suicide. Join us for a day of conversation, support, and healing.

​In response to rising concerns about suicide rates, "Let’s Get Talking About Suicide" is committed to delivering the key aims of the National Suicide Strategy. By fostering city-wide leadership and creating a space for open dialogue, we aim to:
​

• Raise Awareness: Shine a light on the critical issue of suicide, its impact, and ways to prevent it.
• Offer Support: Provide information, resources, and direct support to those affected by or at risk of suicide.
• Build Community: Unite health professionals, community organizations, and individuals to create a supportive network.
