Digital Lead Trustee

This is an exciting time to join Havelock Community Centre Management Committee, as we prepare to launch our Business Development Plan. We are looking for an
enthusiastic volunteer for the role of Digital Lead Trustee who can use their technical skills and digital expertise to rapidly increase our ‘digital maturity’ and help us
expand our services and offer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making an impact with their digital expertise, by shaping the online activities of an ambitious community centre at the heart of Southsea. We don’t expect our Digital Trustee to update our website but they might be able to find a
volunteer who will. We are looking for someone who can:-

 Support the Management Committee in developing their individual and collective understanding of Digital Transformation & Cyber Security and
ensure that it is regularly considered at Trustee Meetings
 Ensure the information being provided to the Board regarding Digital Transformation & Cyber Security is adequate, appropriate and
easily understood by all Trustees
 Help provide additional scrutiny and support to the Centre Manager and ensure that Digital Transformation, Social Media & Cyber Security policies,
practices and risks are regularly reviewed and effectively reported on to the Trustees
 Support the Centre Manager in exploring opportunities for digital fundraising and maximising the use of social media channels
 Provide digital comms advice and recommendations
 Ensure good governance surrounding cyber & data security
 Comply with the legal duties of a trustee as laid out by the Charity Commission.


The Digital Lead Trustee will play a steering role and need not be too involved in the day to day running of the organisation. However some Trustees do help to organise and attend events and work with staff to keep the centre running on a day to day basis if they have the time. Other Trustees will limit their activity to attending the Management Committee meetings and keeping in regular contact with the Centre Manager but it is important that our Trustees are enthusiastic and committed.

Skills

- Minimum 18 years

- Understand the potential of digital and the digital landscape

- Able to attend in-person, bi-monthly meetings on a Wednesday evening

- Have the ability to explain tech terms and jargon in ways that the rest of the

Trustees can understand

- Use interpersonal skills and existing networks to build effective relationships with

external stakeholders

- You cannot have been previously disqualified as a trustee or company director, be

an undischarged bankrupt or have certain unspent criminal convictions
