Finding out about the good things happening in the neighbourhoods of Portsmouth

Please help us find out about the good things happening in the neighbourhoods of Portsmouth

The Portsmouth Together Partnership has been chosen as one of the 20 places to take part in the first phase of the Placed Based Social Action programme. This programme aims to support communities to put social action at the heart of plans which make a positive difference in the local area.

What do we mean by social action? Social action is about people coming together to help improve their lives and solve the problems that are important in their communities. It can include volunteering, giving money, community action or simple neighbourly acts.

We need your help?  In order to develop a successful plan for social action we are running a public engagement exercise. This is through an online survey (paper version is available from the link below) and workshops.  This survey is a bit different and we are already receiving positive feedback.  We often get asked what’s wrong in our communities, but this engagement exercise focuses much more on what’s good in our neighbourhoods and how we can build on that to make positive changes.  This really is about, “building on what is strong, not trying to put right what is wrong”.

We are currently consulting with residents, businesses and local organisations to ensure we have a diverse range of views, covering neighbourhoods and communities across the Portsmouth.  The survey, which is only 6 questions, can be accessed here ‘How can we together?’ survey 2018.  Please take the time to do the survey to help us gather a wide range of views.  Please also encourage your family, friends, work colleagues and, if a voluntary sector organisation, your service users to take the survey

Please get in touch if you are involved is a community based group  and would like us to run a workshop.

Please take the survey today ‘How can we together?’ survey 2018 and encourage your family, friends and work colleagues who live in Portsmouth to do the same.
