Shared Lives Drop In

1 February 2018 at 4:00 PM to 1 February 2018 at 6:00 PM

Posted by: Shared Lives Team

Try something new and take on the unique role of becoming a Shared Lives carer. You can find out more at our drop in sessions – pop in for a cuppa and a chat.

Shared Lives Team will be at the following locations:

Drayton Community Centre on Monday 29 January from 1-3pm.

MAKE in Fratton on Tuesday 30 January from 9.30-11.30am.

Southsea Library on Thursday 1 February from 4-6pm.

Shared Lives carers welcome adults from the community into their own homes. You will need a spare room and some time to help people who need a bit of extra help to live their lives. You can receive between £290 and £400 a week for being a Shared Lives carer.

Shared Lives users will share your home life and you will help to support them with a range of activities such as cooking, budgeting and laundry. You may also help them get involved in the local community – whether that’s shopping, swimming, bowling or going to the theatre.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re single, an older couple or have children – Shared Lives households come in all shapes and sizes. Some Shared Lives carers continue to work and some make Shared Lives their full time jobs.
